Grilled-Steak Salad

In this richly flavored dish, the sirloin steaks are grilling, omit the oil or fat frying. To keep the meat pieces moist as they grilled, season the steak and let them marinate. Here’s the recipe below.

It’s the perfect time to embrace the idea of the steak and salad. Light with sirloin steak it’s juicy and tender on top with the hearty homemade sauce follows the classic ingredients but is heartier and healthier, far less acidic than the other.

I like a little texture to my sauce, so I use the grated onion as the base is a wonderful way to add flavor to homemade sauce. It's delicious on steak work well with big salad, if you like a slightly sweet and sour flavor.

This recipe has a good kick because of you can make ahead the sauce-steak in advance and store in fridge for later. You can also use it as a sauce to work into any of tasty options.

To slice tip grill and other beef cuts against the grain. This allows for a more tender meat. You can easily find the grain by looking on the outside to see which way the muscle fibers run. Then slice the meat across the fibers in the opposite direction.

    Grilled-Steak Salad

    Makes 2 To 3 Servings

    Ingredients

    Sauce

    • 1 tablespoons canola oil
    • ½ tablespoon lime juice
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
    • ¼ cup light soy sauce
    • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
    • 3 garlic cloves, minced
    • ½ large onion, grated
    • ½ teaspoon celery seeds
    • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
    • ¼ cup water

    Salad

    • 250g sirloin steak, about 1 inch thickness
    • a small pinch of sea salt and a pinch of black pepper
    • 1 ½ tablespoons olive oil
    • 5 cups mixed salad leaves
    • ½ cup cherry tomatoes
    • ¼ cup yellow bell pepper, finely sliced
    • 4 green onions, sliced

    Directions

    1. Make the sauce, place the oil in a small pan over a medium heat.
    2. Add the onion, garlic, black pepper, celery seeds and cook until softened for about 2 to 3 minutes then add the water mix another 30 seconds, lower the heat, add the soy sauce and spices: lime juice, salt, brown sugar, smoked paprika, and toss for 30 seconds.
    3. Remove the pan from the heat. Allow the mixture cool to room temperature. Give it a taste and add more of whatever you’d like! (Someone like a little sweeter, some like it spicy, and so on) then, pour into a bottle, cap tightly and refrigerate.
    4. Season the steak with a small pin of sea salt, a pinch of black pepper and ½ tablespoon olive oil and let the steak marinate in the fridge for an hour, or up 6 hours if you have time.
    5. After the steak has marinated, heat the olive oil in a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the steak until well-don, about 3 to 4 minutes per side, (the thickness of your steak will determine the cooking time.)
    6. Remove the steak from the pan and rub 2 side of them with 1 tablespoon of sauce-dressing allow it to rest for 3 minutes, then slice it into strips.
    7. In a large bowl, combine the mixed salad leaves, green onions, and tomatoes and yellow bell peppers. Pour in the rest of olive oil, toss to com bine, and transfer the salad to a large serving platter.
    8. Arrange the strips of steak all over the top, then finish with the remaining sauce-steak on top of that.
