Pecans have a rich, buttery taste. It’s my favorite ingredients to toss and top with pretty much any recipe to add not only flavor but also a vibrant swish of crunch. Here are some delightful combinations. I usually serve them, which are just the quick dishes.
With Fruit Salads: Roasted pecans go well with cherries, peaches, and apple, especially green apple, offering a delightful contrast between the nutty and fruity flavor.
Sweet Treats: They complement sweet flavor like chocolate, caramel, and maple syrup. With pudding, cheesecake, ice cream, or custard to enhance dessert flavor.
Savory Spices: Spice such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and fennel add warmth and complexity to the dishes. They’re great to toss them with pecans then sprinkle some on pork chop, steak, grilled seafood, or stir fry for an awesome meal.
Herbs: Pairing pecans with herbs like rosemary or tarragon can bring an aromatic touch to your recipes: salad, tart, and pie.

Pecan for everything from snacking to baking. Here are storing tips for storing pecans.
Pecan are a type of nut known for their rich, buttery flavor. They are native to North American and are particularly associate with southern United States cuisine, often featured in dished like pecan pie and pralines.
Pecans can be enjoyed raw, toasted, or incorporated into various recipes. They add a delightful crunch and flavor to salad, baked good, and other dishes.
Storing pecans properly is key to maintain their freshness and flavor. Here’re my favorite tips to store shelled pecans for freshness.
Keep them Cool: Store your pecans in the refrigerator or freezer. They appreciate cooler areas, which helps preserve their heart-healthy fats and prevents them from going rancid.
Airtight conditions: Use airtight containers or resealable bag to limit exposure to air. This helps maintain their delightful shape and taste.
Refrigeration: Pecan can stay fresh in the fridge for about 6 month or longer.
Freezing: If you want to store them longer, freezing pecans can extend their shelf life up to 2 years. Just make sure to seal them up before popping them in the freezer. If you’re storing shelled pecan, they can be thawed and refrozen repeatedly without significant loss of quality or flavor. For in-shell pecans, ensure they’re kept in a dry, cool place, and they can last for 6 months to a year. Always use clean, dry, and odor-free container to avoid any transfer of unwanted flavors.
