I have fun getting creative with the flavor paring walnuts. Here’re some of my favorite flavor combinations. There’s everything from my kitchen.
Dark chocolate: The rich and bitter taste of dark chocolate complements the nuttiness and sweetness of walnuts. You can enjoy them as a snack or use them in desserts like brownies, cookies or cakes.
Sesame maple: The nutty combination of sesame adds a kick to the walnuts. You can roast them with oil, salt, and the seasonings, and enjoy them as a snack or a salad topping.
Vanilla: The sweet and aromatic flavor of vanilla enhances the walnuts’ natural sweetness. You can use vanilla extract, vanilla bean, or vanilla sugar to flavor the walnuts, and use them in bake goods, granola, or ice cream
Sea salt caramel: The salty and sweet contrast of sea salt caramel creates a delicious balance with the walnuts. You can make your own caramel sauce with sugar, butter, cream, and sea salt, and drizzle it over the walnuts, or use them in candy bars popcorn, or pies.
Coffee: The bitter and robust flavor of coffee brings out the walnuts’ depth and complexity. You can grind the walnuts with coffee beans, and brew them together, or use them in muffins, scones, or tiramisu.
